Overall the PC version adds a few new features, nothing major, but with a much lower price point than the consoles release. It also adds a new mercenaries features, it is nothing more than just allowing more zombies to be on the screen at one time, but it will make the mode much more difficult – it’s a nice touch, it also gives a greater challenge in a different way, instead of just upping zombie health, it adds more zombies spawning in faster, which works well. There is a clear difference between the PC maximum settings and consoles though, higher resolution textures are mostly all it is, but it does add something new, and whilst running at 60fps, it really brings the game out.

The game is surprisingly well optimised, being able to run on medium on most 3-4 year old cards, you won’t need to upgrade most rigs to play the game comfortably.

There have been very few additions to the PC version over the consoles, the graphics have had a revamp, and playing this game in 1080p on max really does show the game off perfectly, no slowdown helps as well.
While most of them won’t turn your character invincible, it can change the games difficulty. Most kills get you chess pieces, each piece is worth a different amount of points which can be used in a skill shop at the end of each chapter (each characters story is split into 5 chapters), where you can equip a maximum of 3 skills, r anging from higher damage per shot, to increasing the amount of ammo dropped for a certain weapon, it allows a slight change in game play, with many more skills being hidden until a number of kills have been made with certain weapons or completing different story arcs. Weapons are found throughout the stages, meaning if you are not careful you can miss them. Gameplay is very similar to Resident Evil 5, your partner will help you up when you get knocked down, shoot every 20 seconds, and miss most times. It’s nice to know the others are there, and makes the world feel a little more lively, but it serves no purpose to the story itself as you cannot make any choices, it’s just a nice little addition. Leon’s story is all about Ada and the president, Chris is trying to find the culprit in China and that leaves Jack fighting to not get killed, each of the characters will bump into each other as their story crosses paths, leaving you to have to fight a boss together, or in some cases it’s all being done via a cut scene.
Yes, once again Wesker is back completely confusing the story’s plot (though it must be said this game does not help any story timeline at all), as his blood is the cure for a current virus that has been released across the world, meaning some people want to kill him, others want him saved, depending on who you play as effects what your aim is. Old faces come back with Leon, Chris and Ada all making a reappearance, and new faces with Helena, starring as Leon’s partner, Pier, a former squadron unit of Chris, and Jack, Albert Wesker’s son.

However, it is safe to say that Capcom pulled out all the stops for this new game, with 4 campaigns and the game lasting well into the 30 hour mark, not including mercenaries and co-op and other game modes, for the current asking price on Steam of £20, if you’re a fan of the series it really is a very tempting offer already.įrom the start you have access to 3 campaigns with a 4 th being unlocked after beating one of the other three. Resident Evil 6 is the 3 rd game with the new control systems following on from the Resident Evil 5, which was arguably one of the more disappointing games in the series, coupled with some odd choices from Capcom. Resident Evil 4 changed it all up, with new control schemes making an amazing modification. Resident Evil has always been a staple of Zombie games, since the original back on the PlayStation which caused a massive influx of interest again. It wasn’t until Left 4 Dead which really emulated the feeling of running away from a horde. When you add firearms to the original formula it gets boring, and older consoles cannot handle multiple zombies. After all it makes them scary again which is something they have been lacking. New kind though, saying they are not truly zombies because they are not the same as when they were young, whereas others love the new changes. Zombies have changed over the last 10 years, developing from shuffling idiots, only capable of walking towards a single point, to speedy intelligent beings capable of using weapons and even guns in some cases. There are people who hate the
